What is the ABATE of Georgia?

"ABATE" is an acronym for American Bikers Active Toward Education

ABATE is composed of motorcyclists from all areas of the state, from all walks of life, and who ride all makes of bikes. ABATE is not a club, it is a politically active organization working on motorcyclist's rights. We are affiliated with national rights groups like the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), the Motorcycle Riders Foundation (MRF) and the National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM).

Our main focus is to keep motorcycle legislation in its proper perspective. Many restrictive laws are enacted by uninformed legislators. ABATE's goal is to keep our lawmakers informed of our members collective position on Motorcycle related legislation. Preventing unfair legislation from becoming law is easier than fighting to get the law repealed.

Rider education and public awareness of motorcyclist are goals of ABATE. We are not against the wearing of helmets, and we encourage all riders to ride safely. An informed and educated rider is a safer rider.

Sunday July 5, 2009 District 2 Monthly Meeting - ABATE of Georgia District 2

June 21st- Third Sunday ride: Riding to Maggie Valley to the Wheels Through Time museum, possibly riding up with the Legion Riders out of Cartersville, if not, meet at the Hollywood Diner in Hollywood at 10:00 for KSU. We will be stopping at the Salty dog [a biker restaurant] for lunch.
 
   Halloween Party and Chili cook off will be held at Sugar Mill Creek campground tentatively on OCTOBER 24th Group ride will probably leave Hollywood Diner, time TBA at a later date. No need to bring chili because there will be bucket loads of it and the cost is only $1:00 per bowl. At the campground there is a store that sells all your favorite beverages, an outside bar and free live entertainment. This is an overnight event so bring your tent and they will put us up for a small fee.
